Dryness

Every see a saxophonist lick the reed?  That's because a wet reed vibrates.  You're larynx is like a wind instrument.  It has to be moist to work.  And if you live in a dry climate (hello, Californians) it's even more of a challenge to stay moist.  Air conditioning...planes...all drying.  Don't let it get to you.
